Just in time returns to Bobby Portis so that the Milwaukee Bucks prepare for a playoff run.
Portis is expected to take the court on Tuesday evening if the Bucks (44-34) house the Minnesota Timberwolves (46-32). It is the first game in which he has come into question since a 25 game lock for violating the league’s anti-drug program.
The Bucks Guard Gary Trent Jr. said everyone was excited to welcome Back Portis, who last played on February 12th.
“It means everything, as a team, as a collective group,” said Trent. “(We live from this energy, this spirit. And then personally, I myself as someone in the second unit, I miss him to death. He made my job much easier, so he will be back, will be a nice thing.”
Portis comes back to a Bucks squad who wants to bring his winning streak to five games. Milwaukee ended a perfect road trip with three games and returned home for a two-game set against Timberwolves and the New Orleans Pelicans.
Minnesota also comes hot because it wants to bring his winning streak to six games. The Timberwolves are in a crowded playoff race in the Western Conference, as they hope to climb into the top six and avoid the play-in tournament.
In their last game, the Timberwolves held a 114-109 victory against the Philadelphia 76ers. Despite the victory, coach and player said that they would have to improve in their next game.
“Too often, we have individually where we allow a missed shot or bad sales that we (which we (to us) lead for several possessions,” said Mike Conley, the guards of Timberwolves. “We will miss a man who is not used to the transition and things that we are not used to.
“We play hard … But if we have too many boys in different places, frustrated by themselves or frustrated by the way the game runs for them.
The goats are listed by Giannis Antetokounmpo, which shoots an average of 30.5 points per game at 60.2 percent. He also plays the team with 11.9 rebounds per game.
The second scorer Damian Lillard has missed the last 10 games with deep venous thrombosis. Kyle Kuzma (14.4 points per game) and Portis (13.7) lets off the team’s best scorers.
Anthony Edwards leads Minnesota with 27.4 ppg ratings at 44.6 percent, including 39.7 percent of the shootout from a 3-point range. Julius Randle (18.7 points per game) and Naz Reid (14.3) took second and third place in the team.
This is the second and last matchup between the teams during the regular season. Milwaukee won the first game 103-101 in Minneapolis on February 12th.
Trent led the Bucks-Die without an antetocounmpo and Lillard played 21 points in the first game 8-against-12 shooting. Kuzma added 19 points and 13 rebounds and Portis achieved eight points, six rebounds and four assists in his last appearance before his suspension.
Edwards scored 28 points on 10-on-33 shooting for Minnesota. Reid (22 points, 13 rebounds) and Rudy Gobert (20 points, 14 rebounds) each recorded double double.
