The Boston Bruins have ended a lengthy skid and are on the road again.
A night after the Bruins had broken their 10-game defeat (0-9-1) with a 5-1 win against Carolina Hurricanes with a 5-1 win against Carolina Hurricanes, the opportunity to pass the rival of the Atlantic Division Buffalo in the overall ranking when they visit the Sabes on Sunday evening.
Although Boston (31-37-9, 71 points) has been excluded from the playoff conflict for the first time since 2016, interim coach Joe Sacco hopes that he hopes that the well-being night can lead to strong last five games of the regular season.
“With the route we have been here recently, it is nice that the boys feel good again,” said Sacco. “There are many positive things that we can talk about when you win a hockey game. I think it’s important for everyone.”
However, it all started with David Pastrnak, who scored his second hat trick of the season and reached a career high with five points against the Hurricanes.
The star wing player in combination with Linemates Morgan Geekie and Elias Lindholm scored all the gates of the Bruins and broke the team’s 11-game series to not score more than three times.
Pastrnak reached the 40-goal mark for the fifth time in his career and is also the fifth Bruin, who recorded 90 points in three seasons.
“He is a leader, one of these guys who brings positivity and work morality every day and knows that it will come through,” said Bruins, Jeremy Swayman. “We can all build and become.”
Pastrnak had only scored four goals during the skid.
“It was obviously a few difficult weeks, so I’m proud of the group, the efforts, the blocked shots and the commitment to the profit (Saturday),” he said.
The victory was Swaymans 100. In the NHL and got a personal seven-game skid.
The game on Sunday will compete against each other in Pastrnak and Buffalo’s days Thompson 40-goal stars, who reached the trick on Saturday in the 3-2 shooting victory of the Sabres against Tampa Bay Lightning.
Thompson is the first saber to publish several 40-goal campaigns since Thomas Vanek (2006-07 and 2008-09).
“I think individual success is a by -product for how you play as a group,” said Thompson. “I was lucky enough to play with many experienced players who made my life much easier and help me get to this plateau.”
Jason Zuck also achieved in the regulation, while Jack Quinn and Alex Tuch scored the shootings to bring Sabres to a further victory against a playoff contending team despite the continuing absence of striker Josh Norris (unknown injury) and Jordan Greenway (Lower-Body).
Buffalo (33-36-6, 72 points) occurs only one point in front of his opponent on the image and conference picture on Sunday, but this is due to a three-game winning shop and a 7: 3: 0 run of the last 10 games.
The evaluation may not show it, but Sabes coach Lindy Ruff sees a team that can still be achieved.
“We have work as a team to do and determine how we have to play, how we have to have the Puck night in the night, the shift according to the shift,” said Ruff. “To become a better team, you have to use every period, every game … and use it as a springboard. I think you should now give you a lot of recognition to dig up.”
The players see how the work pays off.
“I think we are starting to buy in the right things and consistently do the right things, and if you do that, give yourself the chance to be successful,” said sugar. “At the beginning of the year it felt like we were doing it for one or two games, and then we would be taken a night or three or two nights.”
