The Milwaukee Bucks had a whole week.
They had historical performance in three days and gathered in the fourth quarter of a seven point deficit to surpass the Heat 121-115 in Miami on Saturday evening in Miami.
The Bucks (43-34) won a playoff base on Saturday and switched to No. 5 in the Eastern Conference. They try to stay sharp when the post -season approaches after they have lost four games in a row before winning the last three.
You will try to continue to roll if you visit the lottery-bound New Orleans Pelicans on Sunday evening.
“We have to win games,” said Milwaukee Star Giannis Antetocounmpo. “We won the playoffs and I’m happy about it. We are in a good place. We just have to stay modest and stay on the point.”
On Tuesday, the Bucks shot a franchise best 68.9 percent and made 58.6 percent of their 3 points against the visit of Phoenix with a victory of 133-123.
Two nights later in a win of 126-113 in Philadelphia, Antetokounmpo was the first player in NBA history to have at least 35 points, 20 assists and 15 rebounds in the same game. He ended with 35, 20 and 17 for Milwaukee, which shot 51.6 percent from beyond the arch.
Things were more difficult on Saturday, but worked well.
Antetokounmpo twice its historical statistics line not against the heat, but it was not that far away and ended with 36 points, 15 rebounds and 10 assists.
“His efforts were amazing,” said Bucks coach Doc Rivers about Antetokounmpo, but added: “It was a team victory.”
The Bucks Guard Damian Lillard (veal injury) has missed the last nine games, but Rivers is optimistic that he can return before the end of the season.
As for Milwaukee’s recent increase in Lillard’s absence, Rivers said: “I’m surprised, but I love it.”
The Pelicans (21-56) lost five of their top players to injuries at the end of the season and acted second-time scorer Brandon Ingram during the season.
New Orleans will play his third game in a row against a team in the post -season.
The Peclians lost to the Clipper (114-98) and Lakers (124-108) on Wednesday. Jose Alvarado had 17 points and 10 assists against the Clipper and combined his season high with 27 points against the Lakers.
New Orleans coach Willie Green said that Alvarado “did a great job when people are on the road”, but Alvarado is questionable for Sunday due to calf diseases. If he doesn’t play, New Orleans will be even more dependent on inexperienced players.
“You can’t turn the experience that they come on the floor,” said Green about the young players. “They take advantage of opportunities. I can see a constant improvement of all these boys across the board.
“You can see the improvement shortly before our eyes, and the key, if we progress with the last handful of playing, is to continue to try to build on the positive structure.”
The game on Sunday was to be played on January 22nd, but was postponed in New Orleans due to a rare snowstorm. The pelicans will visit the Bucks on Thursday.
