Jack Grialish fights back tears when he dedicates his first league goal to his late brother in 16 months on the 25th anniversary of his death.
Geralish scored on Wednesday evening in the second minute of Manchester City’s 2-0 win against Leicester City in the Premier League.
After the game, he revealed Sky Sports about the personal meaning of this moment and found that Keelan died in April 2000 at the age of only nine months due to the sudden infant syndrome (SIDS).
Geralish, who was four years old at the time of the death of his brother, informed his feelings in an interview after the game and said it was a difficult day for his family and later posted on Instagram:
This warm tribute died very much, and his manager Pep Guardiola also praised Geralish’s character and called him an “incredible human being”.

He said to Sky Sports: “My little brother died 25 years ago today, so this day is always difficult for the family, but I was happy to score a goal.
“My mother and father were here. I had to score and win was brilliant.”
Geralish added whether he felt the relief to break his Tordürre: “As soon as I scored a goal, I knew that people would say that.
“This season I wasn’t in the best season last season. I haven’t started in the Premier League since Christmas, but I was happy today to score today.
“I think my highest record for one season is eight – I was not brought here to score 20 or 30 goals a season. When I came here, I only had six goals for Aston Villa. I have never been to anyone who was constantly achieved, I would like to achieve more, but I offer the team more than just.
“I wanted to play a chance. I only started in the FA Cup in 2025. I was destroyed on the ground so that I didn’t start in every round at the weekend, but I played well when I arrived. I had the feeling that I deserved to play.”
Man City Manager Pep Guardiola talks about Geralish:
“Jack is an incredible person in relation to gestures. He is incredibly generous. He scored a goal, scored a good game, so it’s good. This is a guy who played freely. He has the ability to control the ball between the lines and play an additional pass. I am not easy for him if you don’t play regularly.
“We miss the chances for the third goal, but the rest was really good. Maybe we could have achieved more. The experiences we have had this season, we have often lost a goal and then after many points.”
The fans reacted when Jack Grialish trees turned back when he devoted the goal to his late brother on the anniversary of his death …
@Vicramsey85: Raw towards the end. Life is hard. I am pleased that he scores a goal.
@Derekadamson: What makes it so real is his body language and the tone of his voice, while he talks about his deceased brother and saves a thought of his mother and father – terrible thing to lose a child even after 25 years
@Millardsarah: Not many players give an open and honest post -match interview more as he does.
@Logan53025545: Can’t like the guy, it looks really nice and modest
@Danharvey74: What a beautiful guy. However, it takes a step in summer.
@Euanbrady011: You never know what someone has to do
@Studmuffin9595: I will never understand the hatred that this guy gets. Did you see how he is with young fans? Imagine how happy she made. Do you see him with this young fan with disabilities and your family? He is really one of the good in the game.
@Boydcrowther: I really like him. He is such a great person. He has to play week in week. You can see it. His problems his family had etc. He has to play escape. You can see it in his eyes
@MozzaceeeeeeeFul: Love this boy. You can see his emotions here and what it means for him. Real boy with the same feelings as all of us.
@Nathanielhodgk1: Can’t like it. Very personable. Rip to his brother.
@gabbiecabbie: He is just right and for people who understand the game they have been saying for years … He is an outsider, not a robot
@Martinh1892: He is a great boy. Fair game for him.
@Philpoo81643918: Can see how hard he finds that he is going through all the way. I will always want the best for him #utv
@ben_pxrker: He is really a top top type
@Joanne_Hodge: With all the human behavior for which he slandered, @Jackgrialish in the heart is only a down -to -earth, family -oriented man who is talented and is lucky enough to do a job he loves. He is a good UN.
@Traleed: Always understood why he gets the abuse he gets. Much easier so as not to like in football
@Foxyn77: You can see how emotionally he is through this interview and in the end actually made me tearfulness. God bless Jack and Little Keelan. #AVFC
@Cw9_mcfc: Damn, love you buddy. Super Jack
@Tarantini_1875: Ah man, he is villa, but he is impossible not to like him. Such a normal
@Abolton_90: I really don’t understand why this boy gets so much hatred in this country in most reasons. Top -kkerl
@Cazzaragi: Especially if you could no longer love the guy. Super Jack. The best person who ever attracts a football shirt. Come back to Villa!
@Jackdornz: Such a real guy. City wins more with him in the team and it is no coincidence. Brings much more than other wingers we have.
@Conormichael04: Such a damn likeable man this guy. He can’t do anything wrong for me.
@_ben_goodwin_: Could see that he didn’t seem to be okay and in the end they understand why. Don’t understand how you can’t like it
@Andyhashtag1gk: You can hear the emotions towards the end, always a person behind the player
