The Los Angeles Dodgers were expected to be the cream of harvest in the great leagues this season – and they have not yet disappointed.

The Dodgers try to improve to 9-0 on Friday when they start a series with three games against the Philadelphia Phillies.

With superstars and talented young people -not to mention the impressive depth in almost every position -Los Angeles was prepared to the season to defend the World Series title. The Dodgers looked out in eight games as well and the Chicago Cubs defeated twice in Japan before they returned to the States to sweep both the Detroit Tigers and the Atlanta Braves.

Shohei Ohtani achieved an exclamation mark for a 6: 5 victory over Atlanta with a walk-off Homerun in first place from Raisel Iglesias. The reigning National League MVP has so far hits an OPS of 1.126.

“It is actually an honor to feel the pressure, because that means that there are many expectations, and I simply change it to a positive one,” said Ohtani after the Wednesday win through an interpreter.

The Phillies also opened the season in an impressive way and achieved five victories in six games. This week they swept the Colorado Rockies in a series with three games that were interrupted by a 3-1 triumph on Thursday.

Kyle Schwarber Homered and JT Realmuto scored three goals to support Taijuan Walker, who had registered six goalless Innings to win.

“(Walker has the ability) to get the boys and he really mixed today. I think he got her out of balance quite well today and was able to use all of his parking spaces effectively,” said Realmuto, who would like to see a similar effort from Jesus Luzardo on Friday.

Luzardo (1: 0, 3.60 ERA) allowed two runs in five innings in his Phillie’s debut against the Washington National on Saturday. He excluded 11 of the 22 batteries with which he was exposed to and showed exactly why the team acquired him from Miami Marlins in the off -season.

“He is great,” said Bryson Stott Bryson Stott in Philadelphia. “It fits right. It is electrically. Obviously we saw him a lot (when he was with the Marlins). It is still electrical if he emits 11 from another team and not from us.”

Luzardo has a 3.48 ERA with a 0-0 record in four career appearances (three starts) compared to the Dodgers.

Los Angeles has a rotation full of electrical jugs, and Yoshinobu Yamamoto (1-0, 2.70 ERA) will take the turn of the series.

The Japanese right-handed man, who has never confronted in the Phillies, registered five inner sings in each of his first two starts this season, including a 10-strike performance on Friday against Detroit. He gave two runs with five goals and two walks in a game that the Dodgers finally won in additional innings.

“I thought Yamamoto threw out of the baseball,” said Dave Roberts, manager of Los Angeles. “Many punchouts.”

Los Angeles already has the best start to baseball story for a defending champion of the World Series. The best start in the Dodgers franchise story is 10: 0 when the team played in Brooklyn in the 1955 season.

The Phillies won five of the six matchups between the teams last season, including a three-game swey in Philadelphia in July.
