The two-time Cy Young winner Jacob Degrom will start his second season when the Texas Rangers organize the Tampa Bay Rays on Saturday in Arlington, Texas.
The right-handed degroma (0: 0, 0.00), which in his first start of the season six out of five goalless innings in the 3-2 win of the Rangers over the Boston Red Sox, will compete against the right-handed Taj Bradley (1: 0, 3.00).
Texas won the series Opener 5-2 behind Tyler Mahles on Friday. The rangers founded the rays in their last two series in Arlington.
The offensive of the Rangers, who slowly started the season, showed signs that some rust was shot down on Friday.
“What I really like was that the two-stroke racket, Leody (Taveras), not only (the runner), but he introduced him,” said Ranger’s manager Bruce Bochy about his team’s four-ran in his team. “Really tough that Marcus (Semien) had, picked up some really bad parking spaces and received the basic hit to keep the rally up.
The 24 -year -old Bradley won on Sunday in his first start to the season against the Rockies. He struck seven and held Colorado on two runs with five goals and without walks in six innings when Tampa Bay won 6: 4. Bradley is 0-2 against the Rangers in his career, with a 0-2 record and an ERA of 4.30 in three starts.
Degrom, who won his CY Young prices at the New York Mets in 2018 and 2019, returned the Tommy John operation at the end of last season. He is 0: 1 with an ERA of 2.11 in three career against the rays.
On Friday, Ray’s starter Zack Littell gave up five runs – four in the third inning – and recognized that his game was “only a really strange excursion as a whole”. Littell went seven innings on 82 parking spaces.
“Of course they were aggressive,” Littell told MLB.com. “In this third inning I made some bad parking spaces and they hit them. It was definitely a strange excursion. … frustrating, but part of the game.”
“We preach strike and attack,” Kevin Cash, Manager of Tampa Bay, told MLB.com. “He did this for most of the game and did not achieve the results that they generally receive when they appear in this way.”
The Rangers placed the right-handed Jack Leiter on the 15-day injured list with a bubble before the game on Friday. Patrick Corbin, who signed the Rangers on March 18, is called back by Double-A Frisco to start the planned start on Monday at the start of the series against the Chicago Cub on Monday.
Corbin was sent to the minors to start the season to build arm strength. Head joins the other starter Jon Gray on the IL. Head was pulled against the Cincinnati Reds on Wednesday because of the bladder after five goalless innings.
