Why is there a power failure on Saturday for live streams and television programs in Great Britain?

Since the Premier League was founded, the kick -offs in Great Britain have been broadcast on Saturday at 3 p.m., whereby the broadcasters were only able to show early and late games on national television.

Although the start at 3 p.m. is the slot in which the majority of the weekend games are played with a series of games at the same time, they are never broadcast live on television due to the “football blackout”.

The United Kingdom is the only place where the broadcast of Saturday -kick -Offs is prohibited from 3 p.m.

The electricity from 3 p.m. is supposed to be a tradition, with Sky Sports’ football on Saturday-the Going to shows where a group of experts in the game reports the audience in the game without actually showing the match material.

This is also the reason why the reviews for the game of the day are increasingly popular, although the numbers are difficult due to online streams, the recordings of gates that appear online within seconds and are uploaded to Sky Sports’ YouTube shortly after 5 p.m.

Large European leagues in France, Spain, Germany and Italy do not observe such a blackout, and there were sufficient evidence that the closed periods did not affect the result of the presence of the football game with a lower league.

If at all, they see more Premier League games when they are based in North America or Asia than in their own country (Great Britain), although England proudly as a nation of football.

In February 2011, the Kokott General Systems from the European Court of Justice hired the “closed periods” and came to the conclusion that they did not influence the number of visitors at Lower League.

“In fact, it is doubtful whether closed periods are able to promote participation in games and participate in games.” she said in an explanation.

“Both activities have a completely different quality than a live broadcast on television. The court was not sufficiently shown that the closed periods actually promote participation in the games and participation in games.

“In France, Germany, Italy and Spain or in Northern Ireland, no closed periods were taken over, that is, within the influence of English football.”

In 2016, OFCOM cited an investigation into television football rights and interviewed football fans about whether they wanted to see a change.
