Kolkata: Kolkata Knight Riders Vice captain Venkatesh Iyer provided valuable insights into the comprehensive 80 run victory of his team via Sunrisers Hyderabad in Tata IPL 2025 on Thursday and emphasized how important it is to read match situations and adapt accordingly.
Iyer, who smashed a brilliant 60 of only 29 balls with 7 fours and 3 six, played a crucial role in the takeover of KKR after a careful start to the Eden Garden in a repeat of the finale of the previous edition 200.
“A fundamental but very important importance of aggression is to show a positive but correct intention when we play cricket,” said Iyer when he was asked about KKR’s stroke. “If we are 50 for six and I still do everything, it is positive, but not right. If we want to call ourselves intelligent cricket players, it is very important to read a situation and then react accordingly.”
The stylish left -hander made it clear that KKRS is not about making every ball for limits. “Aggression does not mean beating every ball maximum. It’s about how you understand the conditions and maximize the conditions in your favor,” he developed.
Iyer wrote his team -mate – especially skipper Ajinkya Rahane and the young Schlagngrish Raghuvanshi – for the provision of valuable inputs during the strategic timeout, which helped him better assess the pitch conditions. Rahane sewed a decisive partnership of 81 in 51 balls and scored 38 runs, while Raghuvanshi scored 50.
“The main communication came from Ajinkya and Angkrish. The news you sent during the break understood that it is not an easy pitch to just go out and beat there. You have to take your time,” he said.
The KKR’s impact strategy was based on Iyer and Rinku Singh a basis before accelerating in the surplus of death because they knew that they had destructive batteries like Andre Russell that were waiting in the shelter. “I have this luxury because we have Rinku, Ramandeep (Singh) and (other) Russell in the back. Even if I take a few balls, I know that I can cover it to a certain extent. We still have our engine compartment that can destroy every bewling attack,” added Iyer.
Iyer mentioned in the discussion about the ultra-aggressive plaintiff from SRH, which was stalled against KKRS Bowling attack by Vaibhav Arora and Varun Chakaravarthy (which each took three gates).
Iyer also commented for the view that the Indian Pacer Mohammed Shami with the Indian Pacer -Pacer -Pacer, who recently returned to cricket actions after a long discharge. “The cricket fan in me is very happy that Shami Bhai runs back and in full river. It was extremely difficult to play it in the Ranji trophy, but here in T20 the bowler also has the attitude that if they are wrong, they can be hit for a border,” he concluded.
