Victor Olofsson scored the go-ahaeead goal with 3:14 to lead the visiting Vegas Golden Knights to a 3-2 victory over the Vancouver Canucks on Sunday evening.
William Karlsson set up the game winner when he wore the puck behind the net and then retreated a pass to Olofsson in the low slot, where he shot a wrist past the Kevin Lankinen glove side and in the right post.
Ivan Barbashev and Nicolas Roy also scored goals for Vegas (47-22-8, 102 points), which increased the Pacific division with the victory to five points in the idle second place in Los Angeles Kings. Adin Hill scored 19 parades to win his 30th win of the season.
Nils Hooglander and Aatu Raty scored goals for Vancouver (35-29-13, 83 points), which was eight points behind Minnesota Wild (42-29-7, 91 points) with only five games for the last western conference game. Lankines ended with 32 parades.
Vancouver took 1-0 in the lead at 4:46 of the first period after Hoflander, after missing six games with an unknown injury, swept in a Pius Suter shot.
Vegas tied it in the middle of the period when Barbashev took a pass from Mark Stone on the left wing and then cut in front of the net and swept a back hand in the left pad of lankines in the backhand.
A few minutes later, Roy gave the golden knights a 2-1 lead when the rebound of his blow shot on the back of the defender Victor Mancini.
The Canucks tied it 2-2, in the middle of the second period with a rebound goal by Raty in front of the net. Vegas unsuccessfully turned out for goalkeeper interference when the repetitions showed that Raty had bumped into blue color in Hill’s glove before Hill had saved a Filip Hronek shot in front of Raty’s rebound score. The golden knights then successfully killed the following delay in wild penalty.
